SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of wooden compacted article. For hardening of binder heat in the form of steam pulse is transferred to wooden compacted article. Prior to said heat transfer working air pressure in compaction chamber is increased as compared with barometric pressure but without extra feed of moisture in the form of steam to said compacted wooden articles. Ratios of partial pressure in compaction chamber before steam pulse corresponds, in fact, to that outside said compaction chamber. Air working pressure is at least 0.5 bat higher than air barometric pressure. Proposed press comprises compaction chamber and device to create high pressure. Closed compaction chamber is composed of press clearance.
EFFECT: fast compaction.
