FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to military equipment, particularly, to methods of increasing combat caterpillar vehicle flotation. Proposed method consists in uniform distribution of load over bearing surface, selection of optimum number of road rollers and application of caterpillar chains with rubber-metal joints. Additionally, the tank is equipped with detachable platform secured to tank body by system of jacks and cables with braces. Said platform is composed of a frame with rolls and caterpillar chains and equipped with motor and control unit. In tank motion, torque is transmitted from said motor to platform drive wheels.
EFFECT: better maneuverability, higher flotation and fast overcoming of obstacles.
