FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: unit comprises a first conveyor having a first dap and a second conveyor having a second dap. The daps are designed to receive the group wrapped into tubularly bent sheet. The unit also comprises a transmitter for transmitting a group of the first dap to the second one. In the first dap a pusher is located engaging the first main wall of the group. In the second dap there is a counter-pusher engaging the second main wall of the group, opposite the first. The pusher and/or the counter-pusher of the transmitting device comprises respective side appendices that engage the smaller side walls of the group when the pusher and counter-pusher rest on the respective main walls of the group sheet for folding the sheet on the smaller side walls. The method of packaging comprises folding of the sheet in a tube around the group, feeding of the group forward through the first conveyor having a first dap and transferring the group from the first dap to the second dap of the second conveyor by the transmitter. The transmitter comprises a pusher located in the first dap and engaged with the first main wall of the group, and a counter-pusher located in the second dap and engaged with the second main wall, opposite to the first one. At that the method comprises the additional stage of engaging of the smaller side walls of the group by the respective side appendices of the pusher and/or counter-pusher, when they rest on the respective main walls of the group for folding parts of tubular sheet to smaller side walls of the group.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides increase in quality while simultaneous reduction of costs and simplification.
