FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly a slag granulation apparatus. The apparatus has a slag trough, a hydro-granulator connected to a water feed pump, a receiving bin-settling tank fitted with a grid, an overflow device and a chamber for collecting vapour-gas emissions with a vent pipe, an air lift for pumping out slag, an air lift chamber for pumping out slag in which there is an air lift ascending pipe with a nozzle for feeding air and a pipe for agitating granular slag before being sucked by an air lift pipe, and a recycled water chamber. The apparatus also has slag pulp drier and granular slag conveyors. The grid of the receiving bin-settling tank lies at a distance of 1-3 m from the level of the overflow device and has mesh size from ¼ to ½ the diameter of the opening of the suction pipe. The air lift is made from sections of stainless steel pipes lined with stonecast insert pipes. The nozzle for feeding air is made from wear-resistant cast iron. The suction pipe has diameter from 1.0 to 0.8 the diameter of the air lift ascending pipe.
EFFECT: use of the invention increases reliability of the equipment and prolongs the service life of the apparatus.
