FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: wind engine of carousel type with a vertical axis of rotation comprises a vertical shaft. A turbine is fixed on the shaft. The turbine is arranged in the form of a central drum with identical blades, in amount of at least four. The turbine is arranged in fixed axisymmetric guide vanes - a stator. The stator is equipped with vertical fixed folds. Folds are arranged between upper and lower covers with the possibility to provide concentration and direction of wind flow at the side exposed to the wind to the working blade of the turbine and discharge of air displaced by this blade into the leeward space. The wind engine is additionally equipped with an air ejector. One of end parts of the turbine communicates with the ejector. The blade size along the line of its contact with the central drum exceeds its radial size. The entire working surface of the blade or its separate sections are made with an inclination providing for diversion of the wind flow towards the ejector. Turbine blades are made convex. The convexity is directed towards the motion side.

EFFECT: increased torque developed by a wind engine at low frequencies of turbine rotation, and increased coefficient of wind flow energy usage.
