FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: source of directed infrared radiation includes a radiator arranged in the focus of a parabolic reflector. The radiator is made in the form of a hollow ball from a porous intermetallide - aluminium/nickel or porous ceramics on the basis of silicon carbide. The inner cavity of the ball is a mixer of gaseous components of a fuel mixture. The radiator is limited with a double-layer spherical shell with various porosity of layers. Fuel components into a mixer are supplied via a nozzle in the form of coaxial tubes, at the ends of which there are tangential channels with opposite direction of twisting. Materials, porosity, specific size of pores and thickness of shell layers are selected from the condition of provision of stable flameless combustion of the fuel mixture in the outer shell with absence of frame breakthrough in the central cavity of the radiator.
EFFECT: even heating of remote objects by directed infrared radiation with high efficiency of combustion of gaseous fuel.
