SUBSTANCE: invention discloses an impedance matching circuit for a radio device which receives antenna signals and has its matching elements, such as capacitors, progressively switched into the circuit, with the matching element configuration resulting in the highest received signal strength indication (RSSI) which is then used until the next test or antenna impedance change. The effect of the matching circuit is accounted for in the transmitter adjustment routine so that the matching circuit works for both half-duplex and full-duplex modes.
