FIELD: agriculture.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of animal husbandry, in particular, to the milk and dairy and meat cattle breeding. The method comprises forming a group of heifers in a service period. At the beginning for each heifer the age of the first insemination, the duration of pregnancy and age of first calving is determined. Then healthy animals with service period are selected in accordance with the quantity of milk yield, and the heifers are combined into groups ranked by the minimum, optimum and maximum terms of service period. Then, from the group of optimal term of service period a new group is formed taken into account the optimal age of first insemination, which is 14.5-22 months, and of this select group the heifers are selected with a duration of pregnancy of 270-285 days, then the date of calving is fixed and the heifers are selected with the age of the first calving of 23.5-31.3 months.

EFFECT: method provides reduction of time of completing and increase in reliability of productivity parameters for the animal models due to the ability of selection of heifers to continue the stable reproduction from the herd of cows of the same breed under conditions of the same climatic zone with reproductive parameters corresponding to the requirements of the technology of industrial milk production.
