SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, in particular to surgery and can be applied for application of internal and external sutures on organic tissues. Method of obtaining surgical suture material includes formation of layer of metal nanoparticles on initial material, which is represented by ligature thread. Layer of metal nanoparticles is formed on ligature thread in argon with purity not less than 99.99%. Loading coil with ligature thread is loaded into vacuum chamber. Vacuum of not more than 10" Pa is created in chamber. After that, with argon pressure not higher than 0.1 Pa, ligature thread is brought under, as minimum, one working magnetron, with simultaneous rotation around its longitudinal axis, and wound on receiving coil. Surgical suture material in form of thread contains particles of metals, applied on thread by sputtering in form of continuous coating not more than 300 nm thick. nanoparticles have concentration of silver, as minimum, 40%, concentration of iron, as minimum, 0.001%, concentration of aluminium, as minimum, 0.001% and concentration of copper, as minimum, 0.001%.

EFFECT: adding strengthening and antimicrobial properties of manufactured suture material and prevention and(or) reduction of frequency of wound complications in area of contact of tissues with suture material, resulting from obtained antimicrobial properties.
