FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing a surgical suture material with antibacterial properties in the form of a suture. In the method, the impregnating composition is applied on a woven synthetic surgical suture in a two-phase manner. In the first phase, the application composition is prepared based on argovit mixed with calcium hydroxyapatite, substituted with metals, or zinc, or silver, or copper in an acidic medium, and the thread is immersed in the application composition for 2–3 minutes, after that, drying is performed in an electrothermal drying cabinet at temperature of 17–20 °C for 60–75 minutes. In the second phase, the dried thread is immersed in argovit with volume of 2 ml and held for 1–1.5 minutes, then dried in an electrothermal drying cabinet at temperature of 17–20 °C for 45–50 minutes, then sterilized with gamma radiation at dose of 25 kGy and packaged.
EFFECT: imparting antibacterial properties and enhancing regenerative activity of the applied surgical suture material, as well as increased area of antibacterial action in area of surgical intervention due to acquired characteristics.
