FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used for machining the complex curvilinear structures. Proposed method comprises imparting simultaneously three coordinated motions in one shaping plane to the tool with torus-like generating surface. One of said motions is revolution of tool generating plane and two motions are translation. Tool revolution is times with translation with tool contact at every point of machine surface. Swing motion about tool toroidal surface cross-section center is imparted to the tool so that is swings over machined surface cross-section with maximum permissible angle that allows application of tool cutting edge maximum permissible length and inhibits tool penetration in the billet surfaces to be machined. Invention describes the relationship for definition of angle magnitude that slows maximum possible use of cutting edge length.
EFFECT: continuous reconditioning of cutting edge, higher tool durability.
