METHOD FOR WORKING COMPLEX CURVILINEAR SURFACES Russian patent published in 2001 - IPC

FIELD: machine engineering, precise working of curvilinear surfaces with curvilinear portions of profiles crossing with small joining radiuses by the same universal tool. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of working complex curvilinear surfaces by means of tool in the form of body of revolution with curvilinear forming surface performing four nonlinearly matched shaping movements. One movement is rotation realized in plane of tool generatrix. In order to enlarge manufacturing possibilities and to enhance accuracy of working, curvilinear forming surface of tool is restricted by two cone portions and portion of tore radius surface in such a way that straight generatrices of tool are inclined by angle whose value is selected equal to minimum angle β between lines tangential relative to opposite sides of profile of worked surface in points of their joining with concave portions of profile or less than that angle. Each convex or straight side of part profile is worked by the same straight face of tool profile; concave joined portion of part profile is worked by radius tore portion of profile of tool performing three simultaneous nonlinearly matched shaping movements in the same shaping plane. One of said movement is rotation realized in plane of tool generatrix with possibility of touching of straight generatrix of tool with each point of worked convex portion of part profile. Two other movements are matched with rotation with possibility ( at working profile portions crossing by angle β more than 90 degrees) of rolling over straight generatrix of tool along worked surface; at working profile portions crossing by angle β less than 90 degrees - with possibility of rolling over straight generatrix of tool along worked surface with negative sliding whose value is determined according to condition of moving maximum-diameter point of tool along non-worked side of part profile.
