FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to woodworking. Proposed method comprises drying the article to residual moisture not exceeding 16%, surface polishing, removing the grinding dust and applying of molten beeswax with temperature not over 100°C. Wax penetrates in the article at cooling to room temperature. Thereafter, the article is processed by gas jet at 450-560°C, wood darkening being prohibited. Gas jet is displaced relative to article surface at the speed of about 1 cm/s to 10 cm/s. In processing the articles of low-porosity timber, purified turpentine in amount of 50-200 wt % of wax is added to molten beeswax.
EFFECT: durable protective layer not infringing on wood natural texture without extra polishing.
