FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: method of sealing threaded pipe joints, including filling of interthread space with sealant, implies preparation of the thread surface by means of metal passivation prior to the application of sealing coating. Metal passivation is carried out in two stages. The first stage implies immersion into phosphating solution with certain composition. During the second stage the unit surface dried up after the first stage is sprayed with polymer passivating solution. A composition of copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene with hexafluoropropylene and of graphite with fillers is used as a sealant.

EFFECT: invention provides higher reliability of the threaded connections sealing.
