SUBSTANCE: in medium-voltage systems in case of line-to-ground short-circuiting a transit process of faulty phase capacitive discharge to the ground takes place. Distance from busbars feeding power supply line up to the point of line-to-ground short-circuiting is defined against total capacitance of zero-sequence for all lines connected to busbars, instantaneous voltage at the faulty phase at the moment of line-to-ground short-circuiting, linear inductive resistance of zero-sequence for the power supply line where line-to-ground short-circuiting occurred, growth rate of zero-sequence voltage after line-to-ground short-circuiting.
EFFECT: improved accuracy.
