FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: used to improve the reliability of operation and protect three-phase electrical networks from single-phase short circuits to ground. In the method of compensating the influence of single-phase ground fault currents in three-phase power lines, based on connecting a compensation device with a control system to the phases of the power line, measuring power line voltages, detecting the occurrence of a single-phase ground fault, generating and introducing the compensation device of additional voltage between the neutral and the ground of the power line, the control device forms an artificial neutral of the power line, while the additional voltage is formed from the zero sequence of voltages of the power line, the end of a single-phase ground fault is determined and the artificial neutral is closed to the ground using a controlled key for several periods of mains voltage.
EFFECT: simplifying and increasing the speed of compensation of short-circuit currents in three-phase three-wire power lines and increasing the reliability of power line operation.
