FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: outer space activator is selected to access a user interface (UI) of the outer space for document editor software. The outer space activator is associated with the inner space UI having a displayed document. When the outer space activator is selected, the outer space UI is displayed, including an expanded surface for selection of functions. The outer space UI may be used to display one or more areas of the condition to provide information on the condition of the document edited in the UI of the inner space. Functions of an application for making changes into the condition of this document may be provided in the outer space of the interface next to the associated information about the condition. The component of communication of the outer space UI may be temporarily displayed in the UI of the inner space, to communicate information on the condition of the document, which is currently available in the outer space UI. The line of messages may be displayed in the inner space UI for communication of information from the outer space UI.

EFFECT: provision of access to information and condition of a document and related functions, functional capabilities via a user interface of an outer space for document editor software.
