SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machinery industry. The agricultural press piston comprises a feeding channel and a bale chamber in which a compression piston is mounted with the ability of oscillatory movement. In the feeding channel there is a packer with the ability to switch between the course of gathering, compressing the harvested mass in the feeding channel, and the course of loading the harvested mass from the feeding channel into the bale chamber. The packer drive comprises a control lever which for controlling at least one of the packer courses interacts with an adjustable stop. The packer movement at which the control lever interacts with the adjustable stop is the movement of course of gathering.

EFFECT: due to the ability to configure the trajectories of movement of the packer the efficiency of the press operation increases.
