FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: after free release of combustion products via exhaust openings opened by first piston timed with second piston or opened by both pistons, cylinder is scavenged and filled with fresh charge fed from crank chamber via inlet ports. After filling the cylinder cavity fresh charge portion is bypassed into exhaust manifold right after combustion products. Then, exhaust manifold cross-section is shut off by slide valve timed with piston to bar combustion products. Increased pressure forces fresh charge from exhaust manifold back towards cylinder and therein via outlet ports, still opened, by energy of combustion products.
EFFECT: higher efficiency and reliability, longer life and increased specific output.
