FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method includes the following sequence of actions: during calibration a metering element in the form of a closed circuit (loop) of optic fibre is sent via metering coils with the specified number of turns, to which current pulses are supplied from a stable DC source with the possibility of control of current pulse amplitude by results of voltage drop measurement at a reference shunt, connected in series with metering coils and an electronic key, and calibration of metering converters is carried out according to the results of comparison of the value of stable DC current in the circuit with the metering coils and the value of the current value in the verified (calibrated) metering converter.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of calibration of metering converters of high DC currents due to reduction of methodological and instrumental errors.
