COLLIMATOR FOR THROUGH SCANNING Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC A61B6/03 G21K1/04

Abstract RU 2499559 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to devices for regulating dose of patient's irradiation during CT-scanning. System for limitation of irradiation dose contains source of X-ray radiation, dynamic and stationary collimators and X-ray detector. Source is made with possibility of axial travel parallel to VOI on stationary support of object. Dynamic collimator is located between source of X-ray radiation and VOI. X-ray detector is located opposite to source of X-ray radiation and collimator. In method of dose reduction collimator opens and closes in coordination with axial travel as collimator approaches to position of X-ray radiation switching off, systems stops obtaining CT for VOI. Complete conic X-ray beam, passed through dynamic collimator is limited by stationary collimator at VOI end. In method of VOI scanning conic beam of irradiation is moved from first VOI end to second end along spiral way, back section of conic beam, adjacent to first VOI end, and front section of conic beam, adjacent to second VOI end, are cut off. System for performing control over irradiation during CT-scanning contains dynamic collimator and two axially immovable collimators. Dynamic collimator contains back and front shutter curtain. First axially immovable collimator is located between position of irradiation switching on and first VOI end. Second axially immovable collimator is located between position of irradiation switching off and second VOI end.

EFFECT: application of invention ensures minimisation of dose of patient's irradiation with X-ray radiation.
