FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to imaging by computed tomography. Imaging system comprises a radiation source, radiation sensitive detector array and a dynamic post-patient filter including one or more filter segments, wherein filter segments are configured to move in direction of z axis and perpendicular to direction of radiation beam or across z axis and perpendicular to direction of radiation beam. Method of reducing flow peripheral rays of radiation beam comprises steps of performing dynamic filtration of peripheral rays when scanning an object or subject by arranging optionally physical segments of dynamically tuned post-patient filter between detector array and area of examination of imaging system based on shape of object or subject.
EFFECT: use of inventions improves accuracy of output data of radiation detectors.
