SUBSTANCE: method involves weighing of a bath with metal charge arranged in it by means of weighing elements. As weighing elements, strain gauges fixed on supports and distributed along the bath perimeter are used. Changes of bath weight values, which are measured with weighing elements, are transmitted to the control device. Information on distribution of metal charge inside the bath is obtained, and direction of metal charge discharge to the bath is set by means of the control device.
EFFECT: use of the invention prevents local agglomeration or non-optimum distribution of charge material inside an electric furnace.
