FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: free-piston engine is made of one cylinder with nozzles, inside of which there are two oppositely installed pistons with a stem, a linear generator comprising a stator winding, inlet and outlet windows arranged on a cylinder at its both ends, at the same time inlet and outlet windows are connected accordingly with the inlet and outlet headers, to cavities of which controlled inlet and outlet valves are attached, the engine is equipped with a control unit, on the side wall of the cylinder there is a piston position sensor, which by electric links is connected to a control unit, with which inlet and outlet valves are also connected, and in the middle part of the stem there is an auxiliary piston, on which there are permanent magnets. Inside the cylinder there are two radial limiters of piston travel. Spark plugs are installed in the ends of the cylinder. The cylinder is made with two coaxial walls, forming a gap for passage of cooling liquid.
