FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: display panel has a matrix substrate equipped with a first electrode; a colour filter substrate equipped with a second electrode; and a liquid crystal layer enclosed between the matrix substrate and the colour filter substrate. The colour filter substrate further includes four or more differently coloured transparent layers, the colours of which include red, green, blue and at least one of yellow and white. A multilayer splitter is formed by the second electrode and at least two layers from the four or more differently coloured transparent layers, and the multilayer splitter is surrounded by a yellow or white transparent layer when viewed from above.
EFFECT: eliminating defects in red, blue and green pixels in case of short-circuits.
