FIELD: power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: method of operation of a power plant with a system of control and a system of CO₂ trapping is characterised by the fact that the control system is used to control the electric power sent from the power plant into the CO₂ trapping system, besides, the power consumed by the system of CO₂ trapping is used as a control parameter for load power of the power plant, at the same time the load power is increased by controlled reduction of electric power consumed by the system of CO₂ trapping.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to minimise impact of CO₂ trapping and compression at efficiency of a power plant and to improve operating characteristics of a power plant.
