FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: nuclear detector for a nuclear imaging system includes a hermetically sealable detector housing (50), a plurality of scintillation crystals (32) placed in the detector housing (50), a plurality of sensors (34) connected to the scintillation crystals (32) and a sealant layer (51) which hermetically seals the scintillation crystals (32) and sensors (34) in the detector housing (50), and a conductor (60) from each sensor (34). The conductors (60) are connected to a bus which passes through the sealant layer (51) for transmitting collected information for processing.

EFFECT: maintaining integrity of the hygroscopic crystal.
