SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to positron emission tomography (PET). Photon detector has an array of sensors lying in the plane of optical sensors, four identical scintillation crystalline rods, a first layer with a beam-splitting section, a second layer with a beam-splitting section, a signal processing unit connected to an array of sensors, configured to estimate the estimated interaction depth of one of the four identical scintillation crystal rods based on the detected event based on the ratio of perceptible luminescence of two of the four identical scintillation crystalline rods arranged diagonally to each other and facing one of four identical scintillation crystalline rods.
EFFECT: high accuracy of determining time and spatial resolution, simple calculation of DOI.
