SUBSTANCE: injection device movable from a storage position into an injection position comprises a carrier body, an activating cartridge enclosing the carrier body at least partially, a carpule containing a drug supplied during an injection, a first driving mechanism interacting with the carpule and activating cartridge, a safety device holding the first driving mechanism before activated, a needle assembly, a needle protection element, and a second driving trigger. The needle protection element with the second driving trigger interacting therewith is placed radially between the carrier body and activating cartridge. The carrier body has front and back portions with front and back inlet chambers respectively, and both portions of the carrier body can be coupled to each other on a coupling portion by a coupling device towards a longitudinal axis in two opposite longitudinal places in the first and second coupling positions. The front inlet chamber is sealed completely from the ambient environment. The group of inventions also involve two methods for sterilisation of the injection device.

EFFECT: providing high reliability of the automatic injector, particularly the improved needle protection, and the method for sterilisation of the needle assembly together with the drug container providing the long-term storage sterility.
