SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacture of paper, in particular to manufacture of wrapping paper with low flammability. The paper comprises paper canvas and strips located on the canvas at certain intervals in the longitudinal direction of the canvas. The strips are formed by applying onto the canvas of the liquid inhibiting combustion, which contains a solvent and a flame retardant - sodium alginate or pectin. The solvent is purified water obtained from the raw water taken from water supply system or from the well from which at least calcium and magnesium ions were removed. The machine for manufacturing paper comprises the path of the canvas displacement, a supply container for liquid inhibiting combustion, and a dryer on the path of displacement.
EFFECT: paper has low flammability and its manufacture does not require large-sized device.
