FIELD: physics, signalling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to protection of secure territories from trespassing using EHF radiation (electromagnetic radiation in the millimetre wavelength range), the energy flux density of which is selected such that the radiation causes intolerable pain for the intruder. EHF radiation flux is transformed into to a focused beam which is characterised by the presence of a region of high energy flux density. Hence an intruder situated at the centre of said region feels intolerable pain with low power of the generator of the EHF radiation. Such a beam can be formed using a Cassegrain antenna in which, based on a command from a control unit, the focus of a convergent mirror is moved from the focus of the reflector by a distance which corresponds to formation of a region of high energy flux density of EHF radiation near the location of the intruder.
EFFECT: reduced weight and size and power consumption of a millimetre wave generator compared to the previous method of protecting facilities using EHF radiation.
