FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agriculture, in particular the storage of tubers of topinambur. Leaf-stem mass of the culture is mowed 2-3 weeks before harvesting the tubers at a height of 30-50 cm. The tubers are dug out in late September or October and laid for storage in stationary storage facilities. Wet tubers are dried and interspersed with the tripoli powder on the basis of 5-20 kg per 1 ton of product. By gradual lowering the temperature in the storage facility the relative humidity of air is maintained at 94-96%. After snowfall the tubers are draped with snow. For this the snow is placed on the site with 30-50 cm, compacted well and a layer of tubers is placed on it, then the snow with the thickness of 3-6 cm is placed on it, a new layer of tubers and so layer by layer it is adjusted to a height of 1-1.5 m. Above the mass of tubers and on the sides the compacted snow layer of 40-50 cm is superposed, and also the heat insulating material - a layer of sawdust of 15-20 cm and softwood fir twigs. In winter it is achieved that the temperature of the tubers in the snow does not drop below 3-5°C below zero, and the snow melt in the tuber mass is not allowed.
EFFECT: invention provides enhancement of keeping quality of tubers of topinambur.
