FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: wire is made from steel containing the following, wt %: C: 0.70%-1.20%, Si: 0.1%-1.5%, Mn: 0.1%-1.5%, P: 0.015% or less (excluding 0%), S: 0.015% or less (excluding 0%), Al: 0.005% or less (excluding 0%), B: 0.0005%-0.010%, N: 0.002%-0.005%, and N in a solid solution: 0.0015% or less (including 0%), iron and inevitable impurities are the rest. Wire has a pearlite structure at its relative surface area of 90% or more. In 2000 mcm2 of the pearlite structure the amount of BN inclusions having the diameter of equivalent round of 100 nm or more up to 1000 nm or less is 100 or less (including 0) and the amount of BN inclusions having the diameter of equivalent round of 1000 nm or more is 10 or less (including 0).
EFFECT: wire has high strength and excellent ability to drawing and excellent fatigue characteristics after drawing.
