FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: device comprises in each phase a chain of n-serially connected capacitors, two groups of controlled unidirectional keys of n valves and two groups of diodes of n - 1 diodes each, the device contains in each phase the chains from n - serially connected cells, comprising of a chain of serially connected damping resistor and damping capacitor, in parallel connected to an AC key, which are serially connected with a ballast capacitor and in parallel with a ballast reactor, and the load is serially connected with the last cell.
EFFECT: development of an AC voltage controller with improved properties of output voltage and input current.
