FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of controlling resistance variation in an artificial joint of an orthosis, an exoskeleton or a lower limb prosthesis. Artificial joint has upper part and lower part, which are fixed on each other with possibility of rotation around axis of rotation. Between the upper part and the lower part a resistance unit is fixed to provide resistance against flexion or extension of the artificial joint. Resistance unit is matched with adjusting device, by means of which resistance is changed, if the sensor signal of the control unit coordinated with the control device activates the adjustment device. Resistance varies depending on angle and/or length of measured or calculated leg chord and/or their derivatives in time. Leg chord is a connecting line between a pivotal joint turn point and a foot point.
EFFECT: invention provides the possibility of adaptation to various situations during walking and a comfortable walking pattern with simultaneous maximum safety.
