SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sport equipment, in particular, to equipment for climbing, and can be used for training climbers, mountaineers and rescuers to ensure safety during ascents and descents. The device for spotting the climber comprises an outer forked guide holder consisting of two planks, one of which is removable, fixed with the threaded connections. At the junction of the planks there are coaxial openings for fixing the safety hook. In the outer holder a horizontal thrust plate is fixed, through the opening in which the bolt is passed through with a spring put on it which is secured with two nuts from above, and from below it is limited with a horizontal thrust plate. Under the horizontal thrust plate a "П"-shaped inner holder is mounted, on which a sprung bolt is rigidly fixed, and between the horizontal thrust plate and the "П"-shaped inner holder a snubbing washer is mounted. Inside the "П"-shaped inner holder on the horizontal axis a pulley is mounted with a wedge-shaped groove and a stopping tooth secured on it. On the inner holder below the pulley axis, an oval limiting clamp is attached, and lower the clamp, at some distance from it, a pin is mounted, extending through the aligned openings in both holders, and mounted on the outer cage with the threaded connections. A part of the pin in contact with the stopping tooth is made triangular in cross section. In vertical planks of the "П"-shaped inner holder the vertical grooves are made.

EFFECT: increasing the reliability of spotting and increasing the lifetime of the rope.
