FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to conical grinders, particularly, to conical grinder thrust bearing and to method of supporting grinder vertical shaft. Conical grinder comprises grinding cone with crushing armor elements rigidly secured to top section of vertical shaft 2, bed to support second armor elements making with first one discharge slot, thrust bearing 24, first space 40 and second space 44. Slot width is adjusted by varying vertical position of armor. Thrust bearing 24 consists of horizontal thrust plates 26, 27, 28 and arranged between vertical shaft 2 and piston 30 to transmit force from grinding cone to bed. Note here that first space 40 can intake pressurised fluid and is composed by piston 30 and its body 32. Second space 44 can intake pressurised fluid via channel 46 from first space 40 and is arranged between vertical shaft 2 and piston 30. Method of supporting vertical shaft consists in fluid transfer between first space 40 and second space 44 in crusher operation. Thrust bearing and method of supporting vertical shaft allow relieve vertical load acting from grinding cone 12.
