FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to production of powders by spraying the molten metals by gas flow. Spraying is performed by dispersion of metal melt fed via ring nozzle by external gas flow aligned with melt jet. Disperse-phase solid particles are introduced in gas flow to make two-phase flow with mean-weight diameter particles in disperse phase D43<0.1 h with particles material fusion point exceeding that of sprayed metal and disperse-phase particles and gas flow rate defined by formula: Gp/Gg=(0.01÷0.05), where D43 is mean-weight diameter particles in disperse phase, h is the width of ring nozzle slot, Gp, Gg are bulk second flow rates of disperse phase and carrier gas flow. Disperse-phase solid phase are separated from atomiser at centrifugal separation.
EFFECT: increased portion of fine fraction in atomiser.
