FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used for milling. Proposed tool comprises groove cutting plate to be fitted at tool holder edge. Said plate comprises first and second lateral sides and multiple edge surfaces between said first and second surfaces. Every said edge surface intersects with the other edge surface at angle to make tool tip. First and second side surfaces have the plate lateral reference surface to abut on holder reference surface. Said plate features mirror symmetry about central plane extending through edge surfaces between first and second lateral surfaces. Chip breaker is arranged at every edge surface and aligned with every tool tip and comprises recess under tool tip extending there towards. Extending section makes first and second chip removal recesses between extending section and first and second lateral surfaces.

EFFECT: tool tip can be arranged at whatever side of tool holder, higher degree of finish.
