FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: cutting plate is intended for fitting in milling tool holder and has upper surface with four identical convex cutting edges and four identical angles connecting aforesaid edges. Each cutting edge comprises bent area and rectilinear area adjoining the latter. Radius of every bent area is at least twice as large as that of large circumference that can be inscribed into upper surface. Plate has lower surface with lower edge, four identical lateral sides, each passing between convex cutting edge and lower edge and comprising first conical rear surface passing from bent area to lower edge, and first flat face passing from first rectilinear area to lower edge. It comprises also second conical rear edge passing from every angle of cutting edge in direction towards lower edge. Note here that when cutting plate is fitted into milling tool holder, aforesaid first rectilinear area is directed perpendicular to its rotational axis.

EFFECT: higher efficiency and surface quality.
