SUBSTANCE: liquid treatment device includes a housing (20), having a top part (12), having a top reservoir which receives an unfiltered liquid, a lower part (14), having a lower reservoir (18) which receives filtered liquid, and an intermediate part (38), having a droplet forming liquid filtering system (46). The droplet forming liquid filtering system (46) has a liquid supply system with a rain effect, which receives liquid from the top reservoir and has a liquid supply surface for forming separate free liquid droplets (48) in the region of the liquid supply surface. The liquid supply system with a rain effect has a liquid receiving surface. Between the liquid receiving surface and the liquid supply surface there are passages capable of allowing passage of filtered liquid and forming a hanging droplet which sticks to the liquid supply surface.
