FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: seismic data collection system includes a central information processing device; a cable network connected to the central information processing device, which has data collection lines, each comprising electronic units arranged in series along a telemetric cable. Each of these units is connected to a sensor and processes signals transmitted by said sensors; intermediate modules arranged in series along the telemetric cable. Each of these modules is connected by a cable to two electronic units and provides power and synchronisation of electronic units connected to that module; characterised by that each electronic unit is connected by a cable to two intermediate modules, including with the module situated along the telemetric cable before that unit, and with the module situated after that unit, and each intermediate module comprises: a self-contained synchronisation device which is independent of the central information processing device; a self-contained two-way power supply for powering at least one unit situated before that intermediate module and/or at least one unit situated after that intermediate module; a device for storing data processed by the electronic units, wherein that device is a two-way device which enables storage of data obtained from at least one unit situated before that intermediate module and/or from at least one unit situated after that intermediate module.
EFFECT: designing a seismic data collection system, having a cable network connected to a central information processing device, which remains operational when the cable is broken, designing a system which provides easy control of sections of the cable network isolated by the cable breakage using the central information processing device.
