APPARATUS FOR THERMOELECTRIC PROTECTION OF PIPELINE FROM CORROSION Russian patent published in 2014 - IPC C23F13/06

Abstract RU 2510434 C2

FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a power supply connected to a power unit which is connected by cables to the section of the protected pipeline and an anodic ground lead. The power supply is a thermoelectric generator which is a section of a pipe inserted into the protected pipeline, connected to the pipeline through flanges and having an annular ribbing made of insulating dielectric material with high heat conductivity, inside of which, by repeating the outline of the longitudinal section of annular fins around the section of the pipe on its entire length, there are paired zigzag rows of thermoelectric sections, separate rows of which consist of alternately arranged and interconnected thermionic converters, each consisting of a pair of sections of different metals M1 and M2, the ends of which are flattened, tightly pressed to each other and placed in a heating and cooling zone. The free ends of the separate rows of each paired row on one side of the section of the pipe are connected to each other by connecting straps, and on the opposite side are connected to collectors with like charges, connected through current leads with the power unit.

EFFECT: high reliability and effectiveness of protecting a pipeline from corrosion.
