FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: height of foamed slag is defined in at least three zones of furnace body proceeding from the measurements of furnace body noise and compared with carbon oxide content in arc furnace offgas. Carbon and/or oxygen feed to at least one of three zones is adjusted so that said height is maintained under maximum level correlated with tolerable limit magnitude of carbon dioxide in offgas to be subjected to afterburning.
EFFECT: higher quality of control and optimisation of carbon oxide afterburning.
