FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: according to procedure supply of power into electric arc furnace is evaluated by means of at least one electric sensor (13a, 13b, 13c) and there is measured case noise in form of fluctuations on electric arc furnace. There is determined at least one parametre of state, particularly, height of foamy slag (15) by means of a transmitting function calculated by evaluation of measured fluctuations, i.e, case noise and by evaluation of said measurements of at least one electric sensor (13a, 13b, 13c). State of height of foamy slag (15) is thus reliably registered and tracked in duration of time. Height of foamy slag (15) is essential for efficient introduction of power in electric arc furnace. Also, losses are decreased due to radiation when electric arc (18) is covered with foamy slag. Owing to improved procedure of measurement automatic control and, correspondingly, control of height of foamy slag are more reliable.

EFFECT: improved quality of control of electric arc furnace.
