SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a receiving device which includes: a receiving unit which receives image data, based on which a stereoscopic image is displayed on a defined area of a program, procedure description information transmitted with broadcast signals and, included therein, information on stereoscopic image data transmission source and switching instruction information which specifies an instruction for moments in time for switching the stereoscopic image, transmitted with broadcast signals, a unit for analysing the procedure description information which switches the stereoscopic image data transmission source based on analysis of procedure description information, a switching notification unit which notifies the unit for analysing the procedure description information on stereoscopic image data switching upon arrival switching instruction information when waiting for stereoscopic image data switching instruction information based on analysis, and a reproduction control unit which switches to receiving/reproducing stereoscopic image data, based on information on the transmission source and the switching instruction for the stereoscopic image data.
EFFECT: enabling analysis of information, at the receiver side, for displaying switch between 2D and 3D video image.
