SUBSTANCE: image generation module 22 generates image data denoting time elapsing based on time data received from control module 30 and transmits this to combining module 21. Combining module 21 combines image data saved in storage module 25 and image data denoting time data from image generation module 22 to generate video data and transmits this video data to image switching module 16. Video image switching module 16 selects video data from video coder 14, video data from combining module 21 or video data from determination module 24 based on control fulfilled by control module 30 and outputs it to display module 18. For instance, when user switches channel by performing operation with operations module 31 video image attenuation is performed, video data from combining module 21 is selected, and video image denoting elapsing time is displayed in display module 18.
