FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of a polymer additive which enhances the viscosity index in a diesel fuel composition to enhance acceleration characteristics of an internal combustion engine in which the diesel fuel composition is located, or an internal combustion engine in a car driven by such an engine, where the polymer additive which enhances the viscosity index contains a block copolymer which contains one or more monomer blocks selected from ethylene, propylene, butylene, butadiene, isoprene and styrene monomers, and concentration of the polymer additive which enhances the viscosity index in the diesel fuel composition is 0.05-0.5 wt %. The invention also relates to use of an additive which enhances the viscosity index in a fuel component for a diesel fuel composition to (i) enhance acceleration characteristics of an internal combustion engine in which the diesel fuel composition containing said component is located, or an internal combustion engine, where the polymer additive which enhances the viscosity index contains a block copolymer which contains one or more monomer blocks selected from ethylene, propylene, butylene, butadiene, isoprene and styrene monomers, and concentration of the polymer additive which enhances the viscosity index in the diesel fuel composition is 0.05-0.5 wt %.
EFFECT: use of the additive improves the viscosity index of the motor fuel composition in order to improve the acceleration characteristics of the internal combustion engine into which the fuel composition is fed or a car driven by such an engine.
