FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to obtaining of direct-reduced iron in electric-arc furnaces as per one-stage procedure. Molten metal bath is used as a reaction medium and a reduction zone, solid carbon-containing material and iron-ore raw material in the form of particles of maximum 6 mm and flux is supplied to the metal bath volume, and technical gaseous oxygen is blown. Heating of carbon-containing material and gasification of its organic part is performed; heating of particles of iron-ore raw material is performed till molten state so that transition of carbon to molten state and interaction of liquid iron oxides with carbon is provided and iron and CO is obtained. The molten bath is bubbled with gas obtained as a result of gasification and oxidation of carbon so that its boiling and mixing and rise of gas bubbles to the bath surface is provided. CO is additionally burnt above the surface with an oxidation gas, thus transmitting additional burning heat to the molten bath. Formed process gasses are removed, and liquid metal and slag is tapped.
EFFECT: reduction of power consumption and enlargement of a range of produced direct-reduced iron.
