FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ferrous metallurgy, particularly to melting of steel in steelmaking units Method includes furnace charge of hard oxidising agent, slagging materials, metallic charge, preheating, pouring of iron-carbon melt, melting, flushing of slag, oxidising refining of metallic melt against excess amount of carbon and admixtures, feeding of oxygen gas, metal discharge. By running of oxidising refinement the biggest part of hard oxidising agent, equal to 70-95% from common consumption for melting, it is introduced in powder-like condition with particles size less than 5 mm directly into volume of metallic bath for depth 0.1-1.0 height of layer of liquid metal. Additionally total makeup of hard oxidising agent for melting it is hold in the range 2-30% of mass of iron-carbon melt.
EFFECT: reduction of refinement duration, power inputs reduction, reduction value increasing of iron and its oxides, increasing of iron yield and reduction of slag amount.
